Namo Namo Jai Shankar Bhole, Nath karein santan ke dole.
Jati, jatat, har kar ke data, Dev aur devon ke data.
Chaupai
Jai Girija Pati Din Dayala, Sada karat santan pratikala.
Bhaala chandrama sohe mukh maahi, Neelkanth dikhaat suhaayi.
Kanan kundal, naag fanda, Taat shreshth, muni man manda.
Shri Ganesh tumhare dulare, So ghatin modak mukh ma bhare.
Kartik Shyam aur Ganesa, Yamraj aur Digpal jesa.
Chanda, Suraj, nakshatra gan, Sasi rahu ketu mahital maan.
Agni Pawan jal akash pukaare, Naamit naam tumhare uchaare.
Brahma Vishnu sadaa pranaama, Jo yeh paath kare man ma.
Yogi tapasi dhyaana lagave, Bhooloka mein mukti paave.
Jo shraddha se Shiv chalisa, Pade taahi milta sukh jaisa.

Couplet (Doha)
Salutations, salutations to Lord Shankar, the innocent one,
Who uplifts the devotees and protects the wise ones.
Ascetic Lord, with matted hair, the giver of boons,
God of gods, source of all, who bestows fortune soon.
Forty Verses (Chaupai)
Glory to you, consort of Parvati, kind to the humble and meek,
You always protect the saints who your shelter seek.
The crescent moon glows on your head bright,
Your blue throat shines with divine light.
With earrings and serpents as ornaments you shine,
Your figure is radiant, purely divine.
Lord Ganesha, your son so dear,
Loves laddoos and brings us cheer.
Kartikeya, Yama, and the guardian lords too,
All revere you, the supreme guru.
Moon, sun, stars and heavenly light,
Bow to you, O Lord of might.
Fire, wind, water, sky and earth,
All call your name, singing your worth.
Brahma and Vishnu offer their praise,
Chanting your name all their days.
Yogis and sages meditate with grace,
On you who grants liberation’s embrace.
Whoever reads this Chalisa with devotion,
Receives peace and endless emotion.

He who sings this Shiv Chalisa,
Says Shivanand, gains true bliss-a.
No poverty, fear or sorrow shall stay,
When one reads with a pure heart each day.
